Jennifer Hudson: Personal Tragedy and Forging Forward
What happened last week is truly horrific and there can be no doubting the sense of sorrow that many feel about what happened to not just someone in the “spot-light” but a fellow human being. Jennifer Hudson, award-winning actor, American Idol contestant and recording artist
suffered a tremendous personal tragedy when violence claimed the lives of three loved ones. It is difficult to imagine the depth of her devastation but as anyone who has experienced such a tragedy personally knows, it is difficult to overcome. The death of a loved one is indeed an immense tragedy and murder in cold blood is astounding in its atrocity. One cannot imagine being directly affected let alone indirectly and the murder of a child, a defenseless soul, always seems twice as horrendous, for such purity and innocence is priceless in this world of sin. During such a tragic loss, it is important to focus on the humanness in this equation and not the celebrity of
Hudson for anyone in such a situation, deserves sympathy during such a tremendous time of loss, not merely those who are publicly known. In the end, we are all the same although we each have different gifts to share. This life sadly, brings us as many trials and tribulations as it does triumphs and when trouble comes to call, that is when we need something positive to focus on most of all. In this case, the loss is ever more the staggering in its magnitude as it affected more than just one member of the immediate family circle and life can never be the same once it has known such sorrow. Still, there is hope for solace, which can be found among those closest to the person touched by such horror. One wonders what the world has come to when something like this happens, regardless of whom, it happens to, for all people are stars in someone’s hearts. Let us all hope that the perpetrator(s) of this senselessly brutal crime is caught, convicted and punished for these slaying. Only the sickest of minds could have chosen to show angst in this horrifically insane manner and thus, we cannot condemn and only pray that justice for the victims’ family comes in the end.
